Wasabi Tuna with Onions
Some like it hot, and some sweat when the heat is on. If you love seared tuna, you'll flip over this great recipe with a little bite. Tuna steak... the wasabi way!
Ingredients
1/2 Vidalia onion, sliced thin
1 tbsp. soy sauce
1 tbsp. Thai fish sauce
1 small cucumber
2 oz. sour cream
1 oz. wasabi paste
Salt and pepper, to taste
1 oz. 6-pepper blend
1 4-oz. tuna steak
Methods/steps
Saut onions until golden brown. Add soy and fish sauce; simmer until dark brown. Puree cucumber. Add sour cream, wasabi paste and salt and pepper. Sprinkle pepper blend on one side of tuna; sear in hot saut pan. Flip and sear on plain side for 30-45 seconds. Slice and serve over onions, with wasabi sauce as garnish.
