Ingredients
- 1/2 cup flaked sea salt
- 1/2 cup coarse ground black pepper
- 1/2 cup garlic powder
Directions
- In a large skillet cook salt over medium-high heat for 5 minutes, stirring constantly. Cool salt on a sheet of foil.
- In a medium bowl combine salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Store in an airtight container up to 3 months. Use to season meats before grilling or roasting, or combine with flour to coat chicken before frying.
SMOKY HOT SEASONING: Prepare as above, except add 2 tablespoons ground chipotle chile pepper to the salt mixture.
